SHOPPING: Siloam Springs, AR is the closest town and has excellent restaurants, groceries and shopping (10 miles)

ENTERTAINMENT: What else is nearby? WOKA Whitewater Park, Mountain Bike Trails & Gas MX Dirt Bike track (12 miles), Natural Falls State Park & Arrowhead Speedway race track (5 miles), Cherokee Casino & Hotel (10 miles), Buffalo National River (86 miles) World-Famous mountain bike trails in NWA (40 miles), University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (37 miles)

ROAD CONDITIONS: Although its not usually needed to get here, 4x4 may be needed after a heavy rain, winter conditions or if you plan to drive onto some of the unmaintained sections of the gravel bar. The dirt road getting here does have a few dips that may create drag points for very long trailers and RV’s. Unknown what length of vehicle will clear without any issues, clearance depends on many factors. There are a few sections on the dirt road that may allow only single lane traffic. Be prepared to back up or yield to oncoming traffic. The road is an easement that is shared with our neighbors. Please be respectful and patient with any traffic including tractors.

ALTERNATE ROUTES: The “Low Water Crossing” aka Carnes Ford is still washed out and you cannot drive across the river at that location. The only way to get here is from the north side of the river.

CELL SERVICE: Service may be spotty along the route a few miles before camp. If you are using Google Maps, Do not close your map or it might not reload. Once you are at the camp, you should have service again.

RV’s and Trailer Access

For reference, I had a 40’ length, 9 ft tall shipping container brought to the property that was towed by a 5500 Chevy Truck pulling a Goose neck flatbed roll off trailer, without any problems.

Max height for clearance overhead is 14 feet due to a guy line wire on a telephone pole a few hundred yards before you get to the gate. If you are close, don’t push it. That’s a rough estimate taken with a flimsy tape measure from the ground on a windy day. That is the average height of most RV garage doors.

No medium or large size RV’s or trailer campers may cross the culvert.

Larger RV’s and Trailer Campers should only plan to camp at the electric sites or in the meadow only.

Rain or recent rain could create soft ground.

Smaller adventure style vehicles and/or trailers should be okay driving down onto the gravel bar, but again, we cannot guarantee access.

Due to the wide definitions of classes of RV’s, I cannot tell you which ones will be okay and which ones will not. What I can tell you, is that if there is any doubt, do not drive it across the culvert. If you get stuck on the gravel bar or elsewhere, you will have to call for your own tow truck.

Navigation Warning

If your navigation system has the 4693 road, the 4685 road or the 0592 road as part of your route, it is the wrong way!

Don’t do it. Turn Around. Stop. XXX Cancel! Recalculate. Try Again Harder. Ok, here’s what you should do instead…

We recommend using Google Maps to navigate here. If you use Apple Maps or some other mapping software, it will almost certainly take you down a steep, unmaintained road (aka the 4693 Road). Not Good. I don’t know why it does this, and I can’t get them to change it.

However, The Google map link on this site does work. Study the maps page and plan your route before driving here.

Still, Do not blindly trust the GPS. You may have to add an additional stop and navigate as if you are going to Carnes Ford on the 4700 road, then turn right on 599th road. If you take any other route, you are not going to be happy. We will try to improve the signs along the road as time and money allows…for now, its the wild west out here.

Pretend its 1999 and you only have a paper map. There is no cell service or Internet and Y2k is threatening to end the world… And the only way to survive is to read the map correctly. We have provided several additional maps on this site to assist you.

The road can get a little spicy and washed out after a good rain, so larger RV’s are not recommended (small-medium sized trailer campers are usually okay). 4x4 isn’t required most of the time, but couldn’t hurt.

We are only 5 miles to pavement and 10 miles from town (Siloam Springs AR) A short section of the road is single lane, so be courteous if you come into contact with other humans.
